Yamaha
Yamaha is now going to launch its first electric scooter in India, the testing of which has started. This scooter is based on the River Indie platform and is internally codenamed RY01.
Yamaha invested $20 million in River Mobility last year, which was about 60% of that funding round. Now the result of this partnership is that this new e-scooter will have many technical similarities with River Indie.
It is clear from the spy shots that the new Yamaha scooter will get new LED headlights, LED pilot lights, and redesigned front fascia. It also has elements like chunky front fender, 14 inch alloy wheels, and LCD console like River Indie.
While side mounting bars were given in River Indie, these have been removed from the Yamaha scooter. This will make its design look even more clean and premium.
This scooter is expected to get a 6.7 kW electric motor and a 4 kWh battery pack, which can give this scooter a range of 161 km. Also, it will have three riding modes like Eco, Ride and Rush.
This new electric scooter from Yamaha can be launched in India around the festive season (Diwali). Many more updates can come out before the launch.
