VinFast VF 6
VinFast VF 6 & VF 7: Vietnam’s leading electric vehicle manufacturer VinFast is now all set to enter the Indian market. The company has announced that it is going to start pre-bookings for its two electric SUVs – VF 6 and VF 7 – in India from July 15, 2025. This is the first step of the company’s official entry into India, which will move forward with even bigger plans in the coming months.
VinFast VF 6 and VF 7 will be the company’s first two electric SUVs to be launched in India. Both the cars will compete directly with already existing players in a segment like MG Windsor EV Pro, Hyundai Creta EV and BYD Atto 3. The VF 6 will be a compact EV SUV, while the VF 7 will be placed in the mid-size EV SUV segment.
The VinFast VF 6 will be a compact electric SUV that can be made available in two variants. It has an electric motor at the front that generates 201 bhp of power and 310 Nm of torque. This SUV will be powered by a 59.6kWh battery pack, giving it an estimated driving range of up to 440 km. The VF 6 can make a special mark in the market with its attractive design, large touchscreen interior and modern technology.
The VinFast VF 7 will be positioned above the VF 6 and will be a mid-size electric SUV. In this, the company is using a larger 75.3kWh battery, which will enable this EV to provide a range of more than 450 km. The VF 7 will compete directly with premium EVs like the BYD Atto 3. The company claims that the VF 7 will also have a clean interior design, large touchscreen and sharp exterior style like the VF 6.
VinFast has come up with a plan not only to sell cars in India but also to create a strong dealer network. The company has partnered with 13 dealer groups across the country and aims to open 35 outlets by the end of 2025. These showrooms will be started from major urban and emerging EV markets, including Delhi, Gurgaon, Noida, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Pune, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Kolkata, Kochi, Bhubaneswar, Trivandrum, Chandigarh, Lucknow, Coimbatore, Surat, Calicut, Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, Shimla, Agra, Jhansi, Gwalior, Vapi, Vadodara and Goa.
Recently, the company organized a test drive session of VF 6 and VF 7 for the media in Vietnam. According to reports, the interior of both the SUVs is very clean and futuristic. Large touchscreen and minimalist design give it a modern and premium feel. The exterior design is also quite attractive and sharp, which will be liked by the youth and technology-loving buyers.
The entry of VinFast will make the competition in the electric SUV segment in India even more fierce. While companies like Tata, Hyundai, Mahindra and BYD are already present, the arrival of a new company like VinFast will bring more options and better features to the customers. VinFast can be successful in attracting Indian customers through stylish and long-range SUVs like VF 6 and VF 7.
VinFast’s entry into India is a big event not just for the company but also for the Indian electric vehicle industry. Vehicles like the VF 6 and VF 7 are not only ahead in style and technology, but their prices are also likely to be kept competitive. If you are planning to buy an electric SUV in the future, then do check out the pre-bookings starting from July 15. Both these SUVs from VinFast are set to make a new identity on Indian roads in the coming months.
