Tata Harrier
Tata Motors has once again made a bang entry in the EV segment, this time through the Tata Harrier EV. This electric SUV of the company is not only great in appearance, but is also top level in terms of performance, range and technology. Its delivery is going to start from July 2025, and more than 10,000 bookings on the day of launch show that there is a tremendous craze for Harrier EV among the customers.
The Tata Harrier EV is being manufactured at the company’s Pune facility. The company has made it clear that it is ready to meet the potential huge demand. Despite the shortage of raw earth metals going on worldwide, Tata says that there will be no interruption in production at the moment. This means that customers can expect their vehicle to be delivered on time.
Tata has tied up with reputed suppliers in China for battery cells, from whom the cells are imported and assembled into battery packs by Tata AutoComp. The company is also building its own gigafactory in India, where the production of lithium-ion battery cells will start from 2026. This will give Tata better control over costs.
The Tata Harrier EV comes with two battery options – 65-kWh and 75-kWh. As per the MIDC certified range, the 65-kWh battery pack offers a range of up to 538 km and the 75-kWh pack offers a range of up to 627 km. However, according to Tata’s C75 testing standard, this range is a little realistic – 420 to 445 km in the 65-kWh variant and 480 to 505 km in the 75-kWh.
The top variant of the Harrier EV comes in QWD (Quad Wheel Drive) format, which gets dual motor and 75-kWh battery pack. The MIDC range of this variant is 622 km, while the C75 range is believed to be 460 to 490 km.
The RWD variant of the Tata Harrier EV gets 238 PS of power and 315 Nm of torque. At the same time, the QWD variant gets 158 PS of power from the front motor and 238 PS from the rear motor. Its total torque output is 504 Nm, which makes it a very powerful SUV.
This electric SUV has three drive modes – Eco, City and Sport. An additional Boost mode is also given in the QWD variant, which is for extra thrust.
The biggest reason for including Tata Harrier EV in the category of premium and high-tech SUV is its advanced features. This Tata Harrier car has a large digital infotainment screen that supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Along with this, safety features like 360 degree camera, ventilated seats, and ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) make it even more technologically advanced.
Harrier EV also supports connected car technology, which makes driving more smart and convenient. The multiple drive modes given in it provide better control and experience to the user on different terrains.
Talking about build quality, this SUV is based on Tata’s ALFA architecture, which is known for strength and safety. The body structure of Harrier EV is so strong that it is likely to get a 5-star safety rating from Global NCAP. This is the reason why this car is not only stylish and high-tech, but also proves to be an excellent option in terms of family safety.
The Harrier EV competes directly with the Mahindra XEV 9e, which registered bookings of 16,900 units on the day of launch in February this year. 10,000 bookings on the day of launch for the Harrier EV is a record and it is the second-highest opening in the segment.
Tata Motors aims to maintain 50% market share in the EV segment. SUVs like the Harrier EV can play a big role in achieving this goal. Tata’s electric lineup already has models like the Nexon EV, Tiago EV and Tigor EV. Now this portfolio is getting stronger with new models like the Harrier EV, Safari EV and Sierra EV.
Although Tata has not yet announced the official prices of the Harrier EV, it is expected that its starting price could be around ₹ 25 lakh (ex-showroom). The price of the top variant can go above ₹ 30 lakh. Deliveries will begin from July 2025 and bookings are open through Tata’s website and dealerships.
If you are looking for a long-range, powerful performance, and feature-rich electric SUV, the Tata Harrier EV is the perfect choice. It has everything a mid-priced premium electric SUV should have – stunning design, advanced technology, powerful battery, and great comfort.
Tata’s trust, low-maintenance electric powertrain, and future-ready technology make the Harrier EV the most attractive electric SUV of 2025.
