Both Renault and Nissan brands faced a decline in sales in India in June 2025. Renault sold a total of 2,625 units, down 26% over last year, while Nissan sold 1,313 units, down 38%. However, Renault has seen a marginal increase of 5% as compared to May 2025.
Triber
Renault Triber remained the company’s best-selling car with sales of 1,421 units in June. Triber sales declined by 21% as compared to June 2024 last year, but saw a growth of 1% as compared to May 2025. This MPV still remains popular as an affordable family car.
Kiger
Renault Kiger sales stood at 755 units in June 2025. This figure is 34% lower as compared to June last year. However, it registered a tremendous growth of 37% as compared to May 2025, which gave some relief to the company. Kiger’s hold in the compact SUV segment is gradually getting stronger.
Kwid
Renault Kwid sales stood at 449 units in June, a decline of 26% year-on-year. At the same time, it registered a decline of 17% as compared to May 2025. Kwid, once considered the cheapest and most popular car of Renault, now seems to be lagging behind in sales due to competition.
Magnite
Nissan’s entire sales came from just one model – Magnite. In June 2025, 1,313 units were sold, which is 38% less than last year and 2% less than May. This figure is worrying for Nissan as no other active model in their portfolio is currently contributing to sales.
X-Trail
Nissan’s X-Trail SUV sold no units in June 2025, while 20 units were sold in May. The model is currently out of sale, and the company is working on a plan to launch it again in the Indian market.
Plan
Nissan has already unveiled plans for four new models for India. This includes an A-segment electric vehicle, a B-segment MPV, a C-segment SUV and a premium three-row SUV. All these models will be launched in the coming years and are Nissan’s attempt to make a comeback in India.
Duster
Renault is preparing to bring back its most popular model Duster in a new generation version. The new Duster will also come with a three-row version, which could be known as Boreal. This is a sign of Renault’s strong comeback in the mid-size SUV segment.
Updates
Renault is also currently working on facelifted versions of the Kiger and Triber. At the same time, hybrid powertrains are likely to be given in Duster and its Nissan variants, although there is no official confirmation from the company.
Conclusion
Sales of both Renault and Nissan have definitely declined in June 2025, but the upcoming plans of these brands reflect their preparations for a comeback in the Indian market. With new models, updated versions and possible hybrid technology, both these companies are preparing to enter the market strongly in the future.
