MG’s amazing growth of 40% in May 2025! Windsor Pro created a stir

MG Motor India recorded sales of 6,304 units in May 2025, an increase of 40% over May last year. The biggest reason for this growth was the recently launched Windsor Pro variant, which sold 3,939 units alone. It gets a 52.9 kWh battery and a range of 449 km. However, sales of other models like Hector, Comet EV, ZS EV and Astor declined sharply. The company is now preparing to launch premium electric vehicles like Cyberster, M9 MPV and Majestor, which is expected to further increase future sales.

MG’s sales jump, Windsor Pro becomes a game changer

MG Motor India recorded a spectacular sale of 6,304 units in May 2025, marking a massive 40% growth over the 4,510 units sold in May last year. The biggest reason for this tremendous jump was the recently launched Windsor Pro variant, which accounted for two-thirds of the company’s total sales.

Windsor EV becomes the new sales champion

Windsor EV sales set a new record, with 3,939 units sold. Its new Pro variant, which now comes with a larger 52.9 kWh battery and a range of 449 km, is being liked very much by the customers. This variant comes in two options – Battery-as-a-Service model (₹ 13.09 lakh) and Full Ownership model (₹ 18.09 lakh).

Falling sales of Hector, Comet and ZS EV

While the Windsor took MG to new heights, the rest of the models disappointed.

  • Hector sales fell by 42%, with only 1,098 units sold.
  • Comet EV sales fell by 31% to 823 units, although MoM growth was 330%.
  • ZS EV also fared poorly, with only 360 units sold, a decline of 33%.

Astor and Gloster failed completely

Astor sales were down to 84 units, which is 92% less than last year. At the same time, not even a single unit of Gloster was sold, i.e. sales declined by 100%.

MG’s upcoming plans

MG is preparing three new vehicles for the Indian market in the coming time:

  • MG Cyberster (Electric Sports Car)
  • MG M9 Electric MPV
  • MG Majestor (Premium Gloster Variant)

These vehicles will be sold through MG’s premium dealership channel MG Select.

Conclusion

MG’s May 2025 sales report shows how the Windsor Pro gave the company a huge boost, while the rest of the models suffered a decline. Now all eyes are on MG’s upcoming premium electric vehicles.
