XUV 3XO
Mahindra’s popular subcompact SUV, the XUV 3XO, is going to be introduced in an updated avatar soon. The company has not yet shared all the details of this facelift, but it is expected that the model will come with new trim levels and some additional features. The current model is already equipped with many great technologies, and after the new update, this SUV can make an even stronger claim in its segment.
The XUV 3XO is already an advanced technology packed SUV. It has been given Level 2 ADAS technology, which makes driving safer and smarter. Apart from this, it gets high-end features like 360-degree camera with blind view monitor, electronic parking brake with auto hold, Harman Kardon premium sound system, leatherette upholstery, 65W USB-C fast charger and panoramic sunroof. Some more smart features are expected to be included in the upcoming update.
There is no possibility of any major change in the engine lineup of the 2025 Mahindra XUV 3XO. Like the current model, it will be offered with three engine options
Transmission options will include manual, 6-speed torque converter automatic and AMT.
The prices of the new XUV 3XO are also not likely to change much. Currently, the current model is priced between ₹ 7.99 lakh to ₹ 15.80 lakh (ex-showroom). The updated model can also be offered around this range, which will keep it competitive in the budget segment.
Mahindra has prepared the electric version of the XUV 3XO and it can be launched in the coming few months. This electric model will also have some design changes compared to the current ICE version such as:
Mahindra XUV 3XO EV can be offered with a battery of around 35kWh. Its price can be kept around ₹ 2 lakh less than the current XUV400 EV, making it a more affordable electric SUV.
XUV 3XO EV will be made suitable for both city and highway. Its range has not been announced yet, but it is expected that it will be able to cover a distance of 300 to 350 kilometers in a single full charge. Fast charging, smart connected technology and low-running cost will make it very attractive for urban buyers.
Mahindra’s plans are not limited to just EV, the company is also developing a hybrid version of XUV 3XO, which can be launched by 2026. This model has been given the codename S226 and is currently under consideration. A hybrid system can be added to this 1.2L, 3-cylinder turbo petrol engine. The hybrid version will be specially designed to increase fuel efficiency.
Mahindra XUV400 EV is already present in the market, but the new XUV 3XO EV can be a more economical and compact option. Its size, design and feature set will make it suitable for those customers who do not want to buy a full-size EV, but want to have an EV experience.
The updated avatar of XUV 3XO will directly challenge popular models like Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Maruti Brezza and Tata Nexon as soon as it is launched. Especially when its EV and Hybrid version is also going to come, this SUV can become a game changer in the multi-fuel segment.
Both the XUV 3XO EV and Hybrid are part of Mahindra’s long-term EV strategy. The company plans to launch several new EVs in the coming years, including the XUV.e, BE series and high voltage EV platform. The XUV 3XO EV will be a more accessible and mass-segment EV model among these.
The 2025 update of the Mahindra XUV 3XO will make it even more attractive than before. New trims, technical updates, the launch of the EV version and the arrival of the hybrid version in the future are making this SUV a versatile choice. If you are looking for an SUV that offers a balance of technology, style, safety and fuel options – then the new avatar of the Mahindra XUV 3XO can be a great option for you.
