Kia Clavis EV Launched – 7-Seater Electric MPV That Changes Everything!

Kia Clavis EV has launched its first made-in-India electric MPV, Carens Clavis EV in India at a starting price of ₹ 17.99 lakh. The car comes with two battery options – 42kWh standard range (404 km) and 51.4kWh extended range (490 km). It gets 170bhp of power and 255Nm of torque. The car has premium features like dual 12.3-inch screens, ADAS, wireless charging, panoramic sunroof, seven airbags and 360-degree camera. The 7-seater layout and i-Pedal technology make it a great EV option for family and daily use. Bookings will start from July 22.

Launch

Kia Clavis EV India has launched its first made-in-India electric MPV, the Carens Clavis EV, in India. Its starting price has been kept at ₹ 17.99 lakh (ex-showroom) and bookings will start from July 22. This car has become the first midsize electric MPV in the domestic market.

Design

The design of this electric MPV is based on the existing Carens Clavis ICE model. The front has a new full-width LED light bar, tri-pod LED headlamps, and a separate charging port. Alloy wheels and fog lamps have also been redesigned.

Kia Clavis EV Interior

The interior of the car has two 12.3-inch digital screens, a new floating center console, roof-mounted AC vents, wireless charger and ambient lighting. It gets a standard 7-seater layout, making it an ideal choice for a large family.

Battery

The Carens Clavis EV comes with two battery options –

  • 42kWh Standard Range, which has a claimed range of 404 km.
  • 51.4kWh Extended Range, which can cover a distance of 490 km on a single charge.

Both batteries support 7.4kW and 11.2kW fast charging.

Performance

This electric MPV gets 170bhp of power and 255Nm of torque with a front-wheel drive setup. The car can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 8.4 seconds. Also, features like i-Pedal system and 4-level regenerative braking have been provided in it.

Kia Clavis EV Features

The Kia Carens Clavis EV gets premium features like wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, 8-speaker Bose sound system, ventilated front seats, electric driver seat, Bose-mode and panoramic sunroof. Touch-sensitive HVAC and media panel are also provided.

Kia Clavis EV Safety

Kia Clavis EV In terms of safety, this MPV gets features like six airbags, ESC, ABS, hill start assist, TPMS, disc brakes on all four wheels, and level-2 ADAS. Apart from this, 360-degree camera and virtual engine sound system are also provided.

The ex-showroom prices of Kia Carens Clavis EV as per variants are as follows:

  • HTK+ Standard Range – ₹17.99 lakh
  • HTX Standard Range – ₹20.49 lakh
  • HTK+ Extended Range – ₹22.49 lakh
  • HTX+ Extended Range – ₹24.49 lakh

Kia Clavis EV Competition

Carens Clavis EV will compete directly with electric MPVs like BYD eMax 7 in the Indian market, which is priced from ₹17.99 lakh to ₹24.38 lakh. Kia has made the competition in the EV segment even stronger.
