The design of the Kia Carens Clavis EV is very similar to its ICE version, but it has many EV-focused updates. It gets a full-width LED light bar at the front, triple-pod LED headlights, and a charging port on the nose. It also has newly designed dual-tone alloy wheels and fog lamps mounted above the skid plate.
The cabin of this EV follows Kia’s new design principle. It has premium features like a two-spoke steering wheel, dual digital displays (one for instrumentation and the other for infotainment), AC vents on the roof, raised center console, ambient lighting, and wireless charging.
The Kia Carens Clavis EV will feature the company’s exclusive i-Pedal regenerative braking technology, making single-pedal driving possible. It also gets a Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) feature that turns the car into a mobile power source and lets you charge external devices.
The Carens Clavis EV will have a 7-seater layout as standard, although a 6-seater variant is expected to be made available as well. This makes it a very practical and comfortable option for the family.
Although Kia has not yet shared the official details of the motor and battery, the IDC-rated range is said to be up to 490 km. It is believed that it can be given 42 kWh and 51.4 kWh battery options, which are also being used in Hyundai Creta EV.
Kia Carens Clavis EV will compete with vehicles like Tata Punch EV, MG Comet EV in the Indian market. After launch, it will create a different place in the EV segment as it will be the first electric MPV in its category.
Kia is planning to further expand its electric portfolio in India in the coming time. The Syros EV is likely to be launched in 2026, which will be a budget electric SUV and will target affordable vehicles like Tata Punch EV.
