Looking at design, performance and off-roading capabilities, KTM 390 Adventure is a more modern and youthful option, while Kawasaki Versys-X 300 is a balanced and comfortable touring bike.

The KTM 390 Adventure gets WP upside-down forks and monoshock suspension, which comes with preload and rebound adjustment. At the same time, the Versys-X 300 has telescopic front fork and uni-track rear suspension with only rear preload adjustment. KTM’s suspension system is more advanced and balanced for better handling and comfortable riding on off-roading and rough roads.
KTM 390 Adventure has 320mm front disc and 2 piston calipers with switchable ABS, while Versys-X 300 has 290mm disc brake and 2 piston calipers, but there is no information about ABS. KTM provides more control and safety in braking, especially in off-road conditions switchable ABS gives a big advantage.
The ground clearance of KTM 390 Adventure is 237mm, which is much better than the 180mm of Versys-X 300. However, the seat height of Versys is 815mm, which makes it look a little less high, while the seat height of KTM is 830mm. KTM feels more reliable on rough roads, but Versys may be better for short riders.
KTM 390 Adventure gets advanced technology like 5 inch TFT display, quickshifter, traction control, USB charging and ride by wire. The look of both the bikes is quite strong according to the adventure touring category, but the aggressive design, LED lights and sporty graphics of KTM 390 Adventure look more attractive. The styling of Versys-X 300 is a bit simple and traditional, which may be liked by older riders. Still, KTM is a more appealing option for young riders.
The Versys-X 300 gets a larger fuel tank of 17 liters, while the KTM 390 Adventure has a capacity of 14.5 liters. There is no official information about the mileage of both, but due to the smaller engine and larger tank, the Versys may be a little practical for long distances. However, the performance of the KTM makes it a better touring option.
If you want a bike with more power, advanced features and off-road capabilities, then the KTM 390 Adventure is a great option for you. On the other hand, if your priority is long distance rides, better fuel range and comfortable seat height, then the Versys-X 300 is also a balanced option. Overall, in terms of technology and performance, the KTM 390 Adventure comes out ahead in this competition.
