Hyundai Elexio
Hyundai has further strengthened its electric portfolio by introducing an all-new electric SUV, which has been specially designed for the Chinese market. The name of this SUV is – Hyundai Elexio. Although it has not been launched in India, but looking at its features and features, Indian customers will also start waiting for its arrival.
Hyundai Elexio has been designed in collaboration with Beijing-Hyundai and was first introduced in China in May 2025. The design of this SUV is completely new and it definitely gets some mild hints from Hyundai’s Ioniq series, but this car has come out with its own identity.
27-inch huge screen in the interior, which attracts everyone’s attention
The biggest attraction of Hyundai Elexio is its interior. It has a very thin and wide 27-inch panoramic touchscreen, which is spread across the dashboard. This screen provides interface not only for infotainment but also for the passenger.
A small digital display has been provided in front of the driver which completely removes the traditional dials. There is no physical button of any kind in the entire cabin, which gives its interior a glimpse of the vehicles of the future.
The interior of the Elexio has two wireless smartphone charging pads, four cup holders, a large center console and a total of 29 storage areas. There is also storage facility under the center armrest and it can also get a cooling function in some variants.
The seats look very comfortable and there is ample legroom and headroom available in the cabin. USB charging ports are also likely to be provided for the rear seats.
The length of the Hyundai Elexio is 4,615 mm, width is 1,875 mm and wheelbase is 2,750 mm. Its height is between 1,675 mm to 1,700 mm according to the variant. That is, this SUV is as big as the Hyundai Tucson in size, but is far ahead in terms of technology and style.
The Hyundai Elexio has a very attractive design. The front gets four-point pixel LED headlights, full-width LED DRLs and a large grille. The side profile features square wheel arches, flush door handles, sporty alloy wheels and roof rails.
The rear gets a stylish roof-mounted spoiler, pixel-style taillights and a bold bumper design. “ELEXIO” is written in big letters on the tailgate.
The Hyundai Elexio will come in two variants – single motor and dual motor. The single motor variant will get 160 kW (ie 218 PS) of power, while the dual motor variant will get a total power of up to 233 kW (317 PS). The dual motor setup has an additional 99 PS motor added at the rear.
Hyundai claims that the Elexio can be charged from 30% to 80% in just 27 minutes, which is possible due to its 800-volt E-GMP platform. According to China’s CLTC certification, its range is 700 km. According to WLTP standards, it can give a range of around 570 km and around 500-550 km in the real world.
At present, Hyundai has introduced this SUV only for the Chinese market and its launch in India is still uncertain. But if the company plans to export this model, then this vehicle can become very popular in a large EV market like India.
This SUV can give a direct competition to vehicles like Maruti eVX, Tata Curvv EV and Mahindra XUV.e8.
The Elexio will also feature Hyundai’s Advanced Driving Assistance System (ADAS) technology, which has been tuned to suit Chinese requirements. Features like electric parking brake, auto hold, lane keep assist, rear cross traffic alert can be found in it.
Apart from this, premium features like 360-degree camera, projection display and automatic climate control will also be present in the top variants.
