Hyundai
When it comes to buying a mid-size SUV in 2025, it becomes necessary to compare between Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos. Both the vehicles are in the same segment and are also direct rivals of each other in many cases. Let’s know which SUV proves to be more powerful in terms of price, space, mileage, features and other important aspects.
The starting ex-showroom price of Hyundai Creta is ₹ 11.11 lakh, which is for the E 1.5 petrol variant. At the same time, the starting price of Kia Seltos is ₹ 11.19 lakh, which is for the HTE (O) 1.5 petrol MT variant. Both are priced almost the same, but Creta is slightly cheaper.
Hyundai Creta gets a 1482 cc engine that generates 114bhp of power and 250Nm of torque. This engine is a 4-cylinder and is available in manual and automatic transmission. Kia Seltos also has engine options ranging from 1482 cc to 1497 cc, which gives power from 113.42 bhp to 157.81 bhp and torque ranges from 144Nm to 253Nm. Both vehicles are 5-seaters and come with 2WD drive type.
Creta’s mileage is between 17.4 to 21.8 kmpl, while Seltos gives mileage of 17 to 20.7 kmpl. In this respect, Creta is slightly ahead in terms of mileage, which can prove to be important for long drivers.
Both SUVs are 5-seaters and look almost equal in terms of space. The ground clearance of the Creta is 190 mm, which helps in delivering excellent ride quality on Indian roads. Both have good boot space and interior layout, but the design of the Creta gives a slightly premium feel.
Hyundai’s service network is good in India and affordable service packages are available. Kia is also gradually strengthening its service quality and network, but Hyundai’s track record is currently considered stronger.
Both SUVs get almost all the modern features like touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate control, safety features, and connected car technology. Seltos gets slightly more engine options and variants, while Creta’s feature pack is balanced and user-friendly.
Multiple color options are offered in both SUVs, allowing customers to choose the SUV as per their choice. This includes shades like white, black, red and grey.
If you want an SUV with better mileage, strong service network and a slightly lower price, then Hyundai Creta can be a better option. On the other hand, if you like technology with a little more power and stylish design, then Kia Seltos is also a great SUV. Both are excellent options according to your need and budget.
