Hyundai Creta
Hyundai Creta has won the title of India’s best-selling passenger car in June 2025. 15,786 units of Creta were sold this month, establishing it as the most popular SUV among Indian customers. This achievement has been achieved at a time when the brand is celebrating its 10th anniversary in India.
Launched in 2015, Hyundai Creta has consistently dominated the 4.3 meter SUV segment in India. Over the past decade, it has become a segment-defining product, which is also commonly referred to as the “Creta segment”. With 1.2 million units sold so far, Creta has created a deep emotional connection among Indian families across all classes.
Hyundai Creta has been the best-selling SUV in the country even in the first half of 2025 (January to June). The model was the top selling SUV in March, April and June consecutively. Creta not only meets the needs of the commuter but has also become an integral part of long drives and family trips.
Tarun Garg, COO, Hyundai Motor India Ltd. said, “Creta is not just a product but an emotion for over 1.2 million Indian families. Over the last 10 years, it has set new benchmarks in the SUV segment. Becoming the best-selling model in June 2025 and completing 10 years is a testimony to the trust Indian customers have placed in it.”
Hyundai recently launched the Creta Electric, taking the name to the EV segment as well. The new electric model retains its identity of advanced safety, innovation and technology. The move reflects the brand’s commitment towards eco-friendly and sustainable mobility.
Hyundai has registered a total sale of 60,924 units in June 2025, of which 44,024 units were sold in the domestic market and 16,900 units were exported. The company’s monthly sales have also seen a big jump, which is a better performance than May. The special thing is that the company’s SUV models have contributed 67.6% to domestic sales.
Hyundai Motor India Ltd. has sold a total of 1,80,399 units in the first quarter of FY2026. Out of this, 48,140 units were exported, which is 13% more than the first quarter of last year. This indicates that Hyundai vehicles made in India are now holding well in international markets as well. The share of exports has increased from 22.2% to 26.7% in total sales.
The company’s Talegaon plant is expected to start production soon, which will help meet the demand. Apart from this, Hyundai is planning to launch 26 new models in the next few years, which will include a large number of electric vehicles.
Hyundai’s next generation Venue SUV is being seen continuously during testing. It is expected that it will be launched during the upcoming festivals. Apart from this, electric versions of existing models like Grand i10 Nios and Venue are also being prepared.
Hyundai Creta is also working on a new compact EV crossover, codenamed HE1i. It will be smaller in size and price than the Creta EV and may be very similar to the global Inster model. Also, Bayon based compact SUV and hybrid version are also likely to be launched soon.
Hyundai Creta has created history by becoming the country’s best-selling SUV on its 10th anniversary in June 2025. The company’s overall sales, growing exports, electric model launches and new generation products reflect its developing strategy. In the coming years, Hyundai’s innovation and models based on sustainable solutions can revolutionize the Indian automobile market.
