As the Range Rover Ranthambore Special Edition received a tremendous response, JLR has planned another special edition for India. This time the edition will be inspired by the Himalayas. The company’s Global Managing Director Martin Limpert said that Indian customers are very fond of local-theme based models. That is why the next model will be inspired by the natural beauty and colors of the Himalayas. This new edition can prove to be a combination of both exclusivity and emotional attachment for the customers of India.
Although the company has not revealed the full details of the ‘Himalayan Edition’, it is likely that light colors like white or off-white will be used in it. Along with this, the interior will also have special themes depicting the peace and cleanliness of the Himalayan region. Just like the Ranthambore Edition had a theme inspired by tiger stripes. This edition will not only give colors and design, but will also give a different experience to the customers.
The company made only 12 units of the Ranthambore Edition and that too was completely sold out in the first week itself. Its black exterior, with Corinthian bronze and anthracite shades, was inspired by the stripes of a tiger. The interior had tiger spine-like embroidery on semi-analine leather. The success of this model proved that Indian customers love local themes and the exclusivity of limited units.
JLR said that local assembly has played a big role in their performance in India. The local manufacturing process of Range Rover and Range Rover Sport will make it easier for the company to make such special editions. Now the company is also planning to expand its custom orders and special services. This will not only increase customer satisfaction but will also strengthen the premium identity of the brand.
JLR sold 6,183 units in India in FY2025, which is 40 percent more than the previous year. With this, the company has reached the third position in the luxury vehicle segment of India. The special thing is that the sales of locally assembled Range Rover and Sport variants have increased by 2.5 times. A major reason for this success is also the offering of limited editions, which further enhances the exclusive appeal of the brand.
