Toyota Land Cruiser
Toyota Land Cruiser FJ is now expected to be launched in international markets in 2026. Earlier there were reports of its arrival in 2025, but now it has been shifted to next year due to production constraints. This SUV is being prepared as an affordable option in Toyota’s off-road portfolio. It plans to bring an SUV that is low in price but is not inferior to anyone in performance and looks.
Toyota Land Cruiser FJ will be built on the IMV 0 ladder-frame platform of Hilux Champ. This platform is not only strong but also modular, which will make it easier for Toyota to build an affordable and compact SUV. Based on this platform, FJ has the potential to attract a new class of buyers.
Its estimated price in Japan is being told to be 4 to 4.5 million yen, which in Indian currency is approximately between ₹23 lakh to ₹27 lakh. At this price, this model of Toyota will be positioned below Fortuner, due to which it is going to create a big stir in the SUV segment.
The length of Toyota Land Cruiser FJ is being told to be around 4,550 mm, width 1,830 mm and height 1,860 mm. Its wheelbase will be around 2,750 mm, due to which both the stability and interior space of the car will be better. Due to this size, this car will fit on both urban and off-road roads.
The design of Land Cruiser FJ can be seen as a glimpse of the old Land Cruiser FJ40. It will be given round headlights, square tail lamps and boxy style. Which makes it a combination of classic and modern design. Its look will definitely be liked by the youth and SUV lovers.
Toyota Land Cruiser Even though it is currently planned only for the international market, but looking at its price and platform, it looks suitable for the Indian market as well. After Fortuner, this can prove to be a great opportunity for Toyota to bring a mid-segment SUV.
Toyota Land Cruiser FJ is likely to get diesel engines ranging from 1.5L to 2.8L and 2.0L and 2.7L petrol engines. The most powerful option can be the 2.7L 2TR petrol engine which will give 163 PS of power. This will make this SUV powerful as well as reliable.
Toyota is going to provide a full-time 4WD system in it, which has Torsen limited-slip differential and multiple drive modes. This means that this vehicle will be able to run strongly not only on city roads, but also on mountains, deserts and muddy roads.
Toyota has recently crossed the sales figure of 3 lakh units of Fortuner in India. This success shows Toyota how much demand there is for premium and powerful SUVs in India. In view of this, the hope of launching Land Cruiser FJ in the Indian market is also getting stronger.
Although there is no official information about this yet, Toyota has definitely made it clear that it is working on a plan to launch electric and hybrid SUVs in many markets including India. Hybrid avatar of Land Cruiser FJ can also be seen in the future.
Not only power and looks in Land Cruiser FJ, but the comfort of the user will also be taken care of. It has large interior space, high ground clearance, modern touchscreen Infotainment, connected technology, and safety features like ADAS systems are also expected.
