Mahindra XUV700 was first launched in the Indian market in 2021 and since then this SUV has remained a customer favorite due to its features, performance and strong road presence. Now after four years, the company is preparing to bring the facelift version of this popular SUV. Recently its facelift model has been seen for the first time during testing on the roads of India, giving a glimpse of its upgrades.
Looking at the testing model, it can be guessed that Mahindra XUV700 Facelift will be made available for sale in 2026. It will see major changes in both exterior and interior. Along with this, many new features will also be added, which will make it more modern and premium.
Talking about the exterior, the headlight unit at the front has been redesigned and changes have also been made to the front bumper. The grille section looks largely inspired by the XUV 3XO with vertical slats. The side profile retains the flush-fitting door handles from the older model, although the rest of the side design is currently completely masked. Some minor changes have also been made at the rear, such as improvements in the inner elements of the taillights and a new rear bumper.
Apart from this, new dual-tone alloy wheels and new exterior color options are also likely to be introduced. However, this is a mid-cycle update, so there will be no major changes in its length, width or structure.
Talking about the mechanical part, the current 2.0 liter turbo petrol and 2.2 liter diesel engines can be retained. Also, 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic (torque converter) transmission options will also be available as before. However, the company’s future strategy includes equipping its midsize portfolio with hybrid technology, so it is possible that some kind of hybrid technology may also be introduced with the facelift.
There will be many important changes in the interior as well. The updated XUV700 may feature new surface trims, better quality upholstery and advanced interior materials. Apart from this, some of the latest features from upcoming models like BE 6 and XEV 9e can also be included in it, which will make it even more technically upgraded.
Talking about the electric version of this SUV, Mahindra has already tested the XEV 7e based on the XUV.e8 concept several times. Pictures of its production-spec version were also leaked a few months ago. This indicates that Mahindra may soon launch an EV version of the XUV700 in the market, which can be launched before or with the facelift.
This facelift version of Mahindra XUV700 can prove to be an important step towards strengthening its hold in the market. The current model is already equipped with advanced features like ADAS, panoramic sunroof, digital instrument cluster, and connected car technology, and with the new updates, this SUV can make its place more strongly in the Indian market.
If everything goes as planned, the Mahindra XUV700 Facelift can be launched in early 2026 and it will give tough competition to SUVs like Hyundai Alcazar, Tata Safari and MG Hector Plus.
